This is unsual since the FAA has phased out most of the older style beacons.
On January 17, 2008 the old beacon was decommissioned and a new beacon begin operation located on the Control Tower

The history of Cascade Airways would not be complete without mentioning the Walla Walla Regional Airport. For many years the Walla Walla Airport (ALW) was the hub for Cascade Airways Operations.
It was the primary domicile for most of the Flight Crews and was the primary Aircraft Maintenance Facility.

Cascade Airways Large Hangar at the South end of the Airport. Acquiring this larger hangar helped paved the way for the larger aircraft, since the smaller hangar at the North end of the airport was not large enough to accommodate the HS-748's and BAC 1-11 aircraft . The detail is not good enough in this photo, however there are no perimeter airport fences. We didn't need them the world was a sanner place. circa 1980 Photo Courtesy Doug Solberg

The First Hangar Cascade Airways utilized at the Walla Walla Airport was located at the North end of the Airport. This hangar was used until the acquisition of the Larger Hangar South of the Terminal. Cascade Airways began utilizing this hangar circa 1974

The Old Military Control Tower (left) was removed about 1976. It was in use until the military turned over control of the airport to the Walla Walla Airport Authority about 1973.
The Walla Walla Airport was an uncontrolled field with the Fllight Service Station (which was located in the terminal) providing Air Traffic Advisory Service only. The New Tower (below) was constructed about 1980 just South of the original tower site.
